I’m here to help!

Hello.

My name is Roberta Peters, and I began Birch Hill Interiors because I’m passionate about design and
enjoy helping people. Based in the Twin Cities, I am a professional home stager and redesigner certified through Home Staging Resources and Staging Studio, two training programs accredited by the Real Estate Staging Association. I have earned certification as a Psychological Color Expert™, trained by internationally acclaimed residential color and home staging expert, Kristie Barnett, The Decorologist®. My certification demonstrates mastery in specifying interior paint in residential applications. I’m also an active member of the National chapter and the Minneapolis chapter of the Real Estate Staging Association, and served on the 2020 and 2023 Minneapolis board of directors.

My love of design and desire to help clients have always shaped my career. Before home staging and redesign, and after earning an art degree, I worked for 25+ years as a graphic designer for several Minneapolis-St.Paul companies and as a freelancer – creating advertising, marketing and communications to meet my clients’ needs. I also art-directed photo shoots, including staging sets for The Family Handyman magazine. In this work, I honed the skills of active listening, problem solving, and good design.

Along the way, I furthered my education with the study of landscape design and floral design, enhancing both my professional life and my personal hobby of gardening.

I began applying my design skills in the area of home styling after a couple of life experiences influenced me to broaden my career in that direction. When my husband and I weren’t working at our day-time jobs, we loved renovating our own bungalow in the Twin Cities and a rural farmhouse along the Great (Mississippi) River Road. Around the same time, after packing up both sets of our parents for a move into assisted living communities,
I realized that not only was I really good at downsizing with sensitivity but that I also greatly enjoyed staging their current homes to sell and redesigning their new apartments into homes.

I’m ready to put good design to work for you too, whether to help you sell your home or love the one
you’re in.

Sincerely,
Roberta

P.S. The name Birch Hill comes from a walk with my dad through our woods across from the family farm where
I grew up, still one of my favorite places. We came upon a beautiful grove of birch trees that he had named Birch Hill years before.
